Having taught herself to play guitar at the age of 14, Acacia (pronounced “uh-KAY-shuh”) has been playing her haunting, melodic original songs through the Baltimore, DC, and now Northern Virginia areas. Her song writing has been compared to the emotive energy of Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard, as well as the poetic intensity of Ani Difranco, and the sweetness Lisa Loeb.

Now, at 25, Acacia plays regularly at Kramerbooks/Afterwords Cafe on Dupont Circle in Washington, DC, and is currently booking shows in Baltimore, DC, Arlington, Alexandria, and further all the time. She is working with Chris Hamilton of Radiation Puppy on developing her style from an intimate solo feel to an accessible full-band (and occasionally electronic) aesthetic. Check back for updates and demos of this progress.
