Having taught herself to play guitar at the age of 14, Acacia (pronounced “uh-KAY-shuh”) has been playing her haunting, melodic original songs through the Baltimore, DC, and Northern Virginia areas. Her song writing has been compared to the emotive energy of Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard, as well as the poetic intensity of Ani Difranco, and the sweetness Lisa Loeb.

Acacia plays regularly at Kramerbooks/Afterwords Cafe on Dupont Circle in Washington, DC. Having formed a super-group of local artists Rowan Corbett of the Carolina Chocolate Drops, Chris Hamilton of Radiation Puppy, and Sharif Kellogg of ilyAIMY, her style has evolved from an intimate solo feel to an accessible full-band aesthetic. Her upcoming album, Unraveled, is recorded almost ready for release. Check back at acaciasears.com for progress!
