Having taught herself to play guitar at the age of 14, Acacia (pronounced “uh-KAY-shuh”) has been playing her haunting, melodic original songs through the Baltimore, DC, and Northern Virginia areas. Her song writing has been compared to the emotive energy of Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard, as well as the poetic intensity of Ani Difranco, and the sweetness Lisa Loeb.

Acacia hosts the open mic at Teavolve Cafe & Lounge in Baltimore, and plays regularly at Kramerbooks/Afterwords Cafe on Dupont Circle in Washington, DC. Having formed a super-group of local artists Chris Hamilton of Radiation Puppy, Rowan Corbett and Sharif Kellogg of Io and ilyAIMY, her style has evolved from an intimate solo feel to an accessible full-band aesthetic. She is currently writing the last few tracks for her next album, which will feature the full band and several guest performers. Check back at acaciasears.com for progress!
